Later this year, a powerful new world premiere will celebrate the lives, resilience and enduring legacy of Black older people in Britain.
Through intimate storytelling, movement and music, the performance explores the many forms of resistance, struggle and survival that have shaped generations. At its heart are stories of friendship, family and the communities that have sustained Black elders through moments of challenge, change and joy.
Exploring The Weight of Standing, this evocative new work reflects on the strength carried within Black older bodies, and the histories they hold. It is a celebration of endurance, memory and collective care, honouring voices that have too often gone unheard.
Bold, moving and deeply human, this is a theatrical experience that promises to stay with audiences long after the final curtain.
