Hosted by jazz musicians Chelsea Carmichael and Joe Bristow, Some Other Stuff is a bimonthly residency and jam session at Catford Broadway Theatre Bar, focused on pushing the experimental side of jazz. Inspired by Grachan Moncur III’s album of the same name, the Black American Music scene of the 1960s, and pioneers of what Val Wilmer called ‘The New Music’, the event will feature two halves: a quintet house band set performing original music for each new show, followed by a jam session. This event aims to create an inclusive and welcoming community—a space for musicians and locals alike—producing quality music that is accessible for all to enjoy.
The house band will play for 45 minutes, break, and then open the space for a jam. We welcome likeminded musicians to come and create with us.
